The test items of transport aircraft are much fewer than those of fighter aircraft. The overall test process is a bit similar to that of civil airliners. The main test items are take-off and landing distance, climbing efficiency, acceleration ability, maximum speed, fuel consumption test, etc. These items can basically be tested in one flight.
Through the data of this round of tests, Dong Jun has roughly estimated that the maximum empty-load range of this WS-30 verification aircraft is about 20,000 kilometers, and the full-load range is half of that.

The four engines of the Y-20 have a total thrust of 64 tons, which can allow a 154-ton aircraft to take off after being loaded with a maximum load of 66 tons.
According to the ratio, the Y-20S with a thrust of 100 tons should have a takeoff limit of 343.75 tons.
Removing 114 tons of its own weight means that its maximum load is a full 229.75 tons! But after all, it was only the first day of testing. The load cannot only be determined by the thrust-to-weight ratio, but also by the strength of the fuselage material. Therefore, for the sake of safety, Dong Jun chose a relatively conservative number.
After being loaded with hundreds of tons of iron blocks, the Y-20S finally took off at a much more normal speed. After gliding for about 600 meters, it slowly flew up, and this takeoff distance was similar to the empty takeoff distance of the Y-20. The landing performance was still excellent, still controlled at more than 300 meters.
After the test in the morning, the leaders thought that the first flight test was over, but Kang Chi and Dong Jun smiled mysteriously and said that there would be a surprise in the afternoon, so they kept the leaders.
